You aren't seeing the process, but I keep starting writing a foundation and moving backwards when I realize something else should be learned first. I want to say making comparisons between arabic and english is probably the worst thing I am doing to myself, but its the best method I have to understand the language.
In English we express ourselves using this phrase: I was, I am I will be. This covers past, present, and future and we can put any adjective next to it and we will have a full sentence and express ourself.
In arabic, it actually gets simplified in some ways and complicated in other. We can capture the 3 tenses using this formula.
I was 'adjective' = Ana kont 'adjective'
I am 'adjective' = Ana 'adjective'
I will be 'adjective' = Ana hakoon 'adjective'
I want you all to know my mind was just blown after I typed this and read it in my head, I won't share all the pattern secrets because it might be overwhelming for now. Right now we are focused on adjective conjugations. The next layer I will add is present tense for all pronouns with adjectives.
Adjective = Mabsout
I (f) am happy = Ana mabsouta
I (m) am happy = Ana mabsout
You (f) are happy = Enti mabsouta
You (m) are happy = Enta mabsout
He is happy = Howa mabsout
She is happy = Heya mabsout
We are happy = Ehna mabsouteen
They are happy = Homma mabsouteen
You all are happy = Ento mabsouteen
Notice the pattern here. If its singular (m) = adjective, singular (f) = adjective + a, plural = adjective + een
This applies to all adjectives. I'll show you a few more examples to teach it.
Adjective = Ga3an
I (f) am hungry = ana ga3ana
I (m) am hungry = ana ga3an
We are hungry = ehna ga3aneen
Adjective = Ta3ban
I (f) am tired = ana ta3bana
I (m) am tired = ana ta3ban
We are tired = Ehna ta3baneen
With this shape we can now apply expressing ourselves in the I form in past, present and future using this same skill.
I (f) was hungry = ana kont ga3ana
I (m) was hungry = ana kont ga3an
I will (f) be hungry = ana hakoon ga3ana
I will (m) be hungry = ana hakoon ga3an
Now all you need to do is learn various adjectives and you can learn how to express for all pronouns in the present and the I pronoun in the past and future.
In a future foundation we will expand this across all tenses for all pronouns, but this is to just start us out.
